Cozy corduroy is a must have winter weather staple! When the weather gets cold, I’m pulling out anything that will keep me warm! And one of my favorite cold weather wardrobe staples are my skinny corduroy jeans. As a kid growing up, I remember my mom buying me corduroy pants. What’s more, my memory of corduroy was always warm and cozy. So of course when I’m looking at the temperature outside and deciding what to wear, corduroy is one of the first things that come to mind. After all, keeping warm is key when these cold temps are leaving everyone feeling frigid and icy.
I don’t have a lot of corduroy pieces in my closet, but the ones that I have are always in my fall and winter wardrobe rotation. One of my favorite go to pair are army green skinny cords from Vince (no longer available). Not only are they super comfortable, but they have just the right amount of stretch. I pair mine with anything from a cozy cashmere sweater, to an over sized sweatshirt, or a long sleeve button down shirt.
When shopping for corduroy, I prefer a thinner wale over a thick one. For example, the wale determines how thick the patterns are in the corduroy fabric. In my opinion, the thinner cords are softer and less bulky than the thicker ones. Of course deciding on a skinny or thick corduroy fabric is all a matter of personal taste because the goal is to stay warm!
Are you a fan of cords? If so, comment and let me know what your favorite corduroy pieces are!
