Looking For The Perfect Cold Weather Skin Fix!
This January weather has been brutally cold and windy. And let’s face it, the cold weather can wreck your skin! As we get older, our skin gets thinner and more fragile. My cold weather skin fixes have changed over the years to accommodate the different issues that I’ve encountered. I recently went on a cold weather skin fix shopping spree to find products that will keep my face and hands moisturized and hydrated.
Protecting Your Hands Against Cold Weather
I always use Cerave as a body moisturizer year round and that has been a staple in my beauty routine for years. But when it comes to my face and hands, I’ve found that I regularly have to change things up from season to season. Because I have problems with eczema on my hands, I have to be really careful what I use on them. My eczema flares up more so in the winter when the air is drier and when my hands are exposed to the elements. Even being exposed to cold dry air for a short period of time can be a problem. After searching for the perfect hand moisturizer, I found a hand and nail cream by Caudalie. Not only does it make my hands feel hydrated, soft, and smooth, it is not irritating! Anyone who has eczema knows that it can be painful to use a product that will cause a flare up. Most products that have any scent in them is a no no, but I’ve had no problems with this lightly scented hand cream. This is a must have that you should have in your purse at all times!
Protecting Your Face During The Winter
Now that I’ve told you about my hand cream pick, I must take you on my journey to find a facial moisturizer! My main beauty concern for winter is making sure that my face isn’t dry and cracking. So recently I went to Ulta looking for the perfect moisturizer for my face and I felt lost! Trying to find the right products can be overwhelming (which is why I was in Ulta for 2 hours!).
Back in the 90’s I had an esthetician who had flawless skin! She was the person that introduced me to Peter Thomas Roth products. Over the years I tried different brands, some worked and some didn’t. Over time, Peter Thomas Roth products that I have used have been consistent when it comes to facial care. So when it came to a cold weather skin fix for my face, I decided to revisit the brands products. I came across Water Drench, one of their latest products that peaked my interest. The line has cleanser, moisturizer, serum, and eye patches. After snagging a sales person to get the deets on the product, I decided to give the moisturizer and serum a try. A moisturizer that claims to hydrate your skin for 72 hours is heaven! So if this product holds up to its claim, it will be a beauty asset during the cruel winter months. Needless to say after trying it out for 7 days, I’m hooked. This has been great for moisturizing my face at night and when I wake up in the morning my skin looks supple and fresh.
These are my go to cold weather skin fix picks for my face and hands! Please leave a comment and let me know what works for you!
